Tuesday, April 21st Sea Turtle Nesting Season is fast approaching - May 1st

Hey All - May 1st is fast approaching - 11 days.  The Friday team will start our monitoring program this year.

The Permit Holder and LOAs/Leads, along with Steve and Barb Demusz were on the island yesterday and have placed our "Mile Marker" posts along with the SCDNR Posts, our triangulation posts and buckets.

While out on the island, we could see the wrack line left by the King Tide on April 18th.  From Mile Marker #4 all the way up the beach to Mile Marker #9 the wrack line was at the base of the dunes.  We may be moving a number of nests this year, since we have a number of King Tides this nesting season.

We have out Meet and Greet meeting scheduled for Saturday, April 25th at 10:00 am.  An email to our volunteers will be sent out.

Looking forward to a busy and exciting nesting season.

 Leslie
