Tuesday, May 5th - Quiet and cool day on the beach

Hi All - just sharing some pictures from our walk this morning, and sharing a picture from the Monday Volunteers.  No sea turtle action yet.  When I checked this morning South Carolina has had eight False Crawls, all on southern beaches - no nests yet.

Beautiful sunrise over the marsh this morning.

If you have never seen a Plover's nest - here's an excellent picture taken by our Monday Volunteers.

If you have not been to the "short end" of the island recently, it has certainly changed.  There is a large sand bar that needs to be walked.

All sea turtle monitoring by the Waties Island Sea Turtle Patrol is permitted and authorized by SCDNR Marine Turtle Conservation Program under Permit MTP500.
